Training Philosophy

Most owners sign up for obedience training because they want their dogs to be obedient, attentive and socialized.  Our goal is to present effective obedience training which demonstrates leadership of the owner by instructing him/her how to give commands and rewards in a positive manner.

Generally speaking the more you teach your dog, the more likely you are to get a dog that is balanced.  A balanced dog is responsive, attentive, obedient, respectful of your leadership and loved.

The method of training used in the classes has been selected based on the effectiveness and positive aspect of the training. Dogs who have been properly trained in obedience enjoy better relationships with their owners and feel safe and secure when they understand the rules.

The basics for a good trainer stem from knowledge, experience, effectiveness and attitude. The trainer actively looks for new ideas and implements positive changes for the better. A good trainer will learn from experience, have an open mind, be kind, patient, friendly and involved.

The main concern and focus at Happy Tails Obedience Training is to present training methods to the owners so that their dogs will give them their very best, be responsive to their commands, respectful of their leadership and enjoy the loving bond with their owners that obedience training often brings.
